New Agfa Health Lab Opening at Conestoga

New directions in health care administration education the goal

Kitchener - Agfa HealthCare is a name recognized worldwide when it comes to information technology-related products and services associated with hospital environments, clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging. Agfa HealthCare will announce a partnership with Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning which will result in the opening of the Agfa Health Informatics Lab at Conestoga*s Doon campus in Kitchener.

The initial arrangement will see Agfa HealthCare provide state-of-the-art hardware and software for the lab, as well as annual upgrades and appropriate training activities. In addition, a select number of students from Conestoga*s baccalaureate program in Health Informatics Management will secure internships at Agfa*s office in Waterloo.

Health Informatics Management emphasizes the links between information technology and health care, with a focus on the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of health information as it applies to enhancing clinical and administrative health care operations.

(Official ceremonies start at 3:30 p.m., followed by lab tour)
