Waterloo wows Ontario travel group

A team from Explore Waterloo Region, and representatives from several of the Region’s significant music festivals, entertained and impressed members of the Ontario Chapter of the Travel Media Association of Canada this week. Explore Waterloo Region hosted the monthly TMAC meeting, held at the Thompson Hotel in Toronto.

More than 50 members of the travel media were on hand to meet the Waterloo reps, and to enjoy a performance by Waterloo Region musicians Matt Weidinger and Mike Todd, who will open this year’s Kitchener Blues Festival, on August 10.

The media and industry members of TMAC heard from Explore Waterloo CEO Minto Schneider; Kultrun Festival’s Isabel Cisterna; Gabriel Mattacchione of the Ever After Festival; Rob Barkshire of the Kitchener Blues Festival; and Kate MacKay, representing Langdon Hall.

The Waterloo team presented draw prizes to a number of the TMAC members, and then Weidinger and Todd were introduced and the meeting morphed into a Waterloo-style party.

Exchange Magazine editor Paul Knowles will become Chair of the Ontario Chapter of TMAC at the May convention in Québec City.
