Waterloo The City of Waterloo encourages residents to learn about and protect our environment by participating in these free family Earth Day events.
Community Cleanup April 1 30
During the month of April, we encourage you to organize a litter cleanup in your neighbourhood park. You can register for supplies, receive support and a chance to win a great prize!
20 Minute Makeover April 21
Bring some Earth Day into your workday on Friday, April 21 at 2 p.m. for just 20 minutes. Join in with the rest of your workplace or school and pitch in to clean up your private property. Teams of 10 or more can register for free supplies.
Waterloo Earth Day® - May 6
Plant one of 150 native trees and shrubs, and celebrate nature in the city with fun, hands-on activities by local exhibitors.
When: Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Westmount Sports Park 440 Westmount Rd N (north of Columbia St.) in Waterloo
Waterloo Earth Day activities:
Enjoy free flying birds of prey demonstrations
Build a bee box or bird house with the K-W Woodworking and Craft Centre
Learn 150 fun facts about nature from local exhibitors
At the event, enter to win one of three prizes of a Grand River Park membership!
To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, 150 native trees will be handed out on a first-come, first served basis at Waterloo Earth Day. These container trees stand about three feet high, and will be distributed through the City of Waterloo Living Legacy 150th Tree Planting Program.
