Ike Van Soelen to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Guelph - On June 22, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce will join leaders in business, government and community to celebrate the achievements of outstanding local businesses, organizations and individuals at the 2017 Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala. In partnership with Timberworx Custom Homes, Ike Van Soelen, an accomplished business and community leader, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Guelph Chamber of Commerce at this gala event.

“Ike Van Soelen epitomizes a lifelong commitment to business and community, having played the role of successful entrepreneur, influential community builder and inspiring leader,” says Kithio Mwanzia, President & CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “Over his celebrated career, Ike has worked with a vast array of companies and community organizations – successfully helping them grow and flourish. He embodies so many great professional and personal attributes, that have contributed to Guelph being a leading community in Canada.”

In addition to awarding the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Guelph Chamber will present awards in several other categories as part of the 2017 Chamber Business Awards.

In partnership with Denso, a scholarship will also be awarded to a graduating high school student entering the skill trades in the fall through the Millennium Scholarship Fund.

This year’s Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala will take place on June 22 at Delta Guelph Hotel & Conference Centre. This event will present awards including The Mayor’s Awards; Downtown Volunteer of the Year Award; Guelph and Wellington Branch ACO Heritage Awards; Chamber Business Awards; United Way of Guelph Wellington Dufferin Campaign Awards; and Innovation Guelph Awards.
