SportFitz was originally founded to design a wearable tracker for youth athletes, to measure and notify when their brain hit their skull so they would stop playing their sport, get off the field and receive medical attention to prevent brain injury. SportFitz entered the exploding wearables market in 2017 when further research revealed: concussion is the #1 misdiagnosed medical challenge in the world; more than 90% of brain impacts go unnoticed; 1/5 athletes are concussed; more than 2 million incidents of concussion occur per annum in Canada; concussions cost $100,000-$3,000,000 per person diagnosed and that brain injuries are the leading cause of death and disability for Canadians under the age of 40.
SportFitz designed a 1" wearable device and smart phone app to measure,
notify and document, brain impact, biometrics and body motion in
real-time. Artificial intelligence tracks and trends measured data and
alerts are sent to the wearer and approved recipients to notify when an
incident has occurred. Virtual reality demonstrates the data in
real-time and pdf documentation is sent to medical professionals for
diagnosis and treatment. SportFitz delivers safety and security
solutions to over 100 countries, across 10 industries.
