The Waterloo Region Children’s Business Fair will be showcasing local kids’ entrepreneurial genius!

On Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 11 am to 2 pm, the 1st annual Waterloo Region Children’s Business Fair will host 75 child-run businesses (110 kidpreneurs) at Catalyst 137.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Children and their families have a chance to shop locally for handmade items made by creative and inspiring kidpreneurs between the ages of 4-14.

Most notably, two young brothers Wally (7) and Marvin (10) will be selling an innovative version of a band-aid protector that they have designed, called “Knee Cap”! The product is a protective barrier moulded using temperature formable plastic that comes in different styles and sizes to cover over a cut or injury to the skin. They discovered through market research that nearly all kids have scraped knees that sting in the shower, so their first product helps divert water away from the knee in the shower to keep it comfortable and dry!

All of our vendor spots filled up before the application deadline and we have a large waitlist of businesses eager to participate next year!

Whether an entrepreneur is famous, like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey, or one of the thousands of unsung business owners across Canada, entrepreneurs are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs, and serve their communities. The Children’s Business Fair gives children the opportunity to spread their entrepreneurial wings and get a head start on becoming one of the up and coming change-makers our Region is so well known for. is distributed twice weekly; Tuesday and Thursday
