1st responder wellness facility to open on Monday 13th

A Kitchener “Grand Opening” will be announced in the coming weeks! Bryan Stevens – Founder and President of Frontline Forward has created a “first of its kind” facility in Kitchener, Ontario and has been working with his staff to ensure a safe and secure environment for frontline workers.

Routinely exposed to traumatic events in the course of their duties, repeatedly performing lifesaving events, mounting tragedies and experiences can take a significant toll on 1st Responders, who eventually pay the ultimate price, mentally and emotionally. The impact of such events can last a lifetime, affecting each and every area of their lives, or those their lives touch. Sadly, it is reaching epidemic proportions. Just this past March, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) constable at a detachment in Ottawa took his own life, the 9th reported suicide of an active member of the police force across the province in 2018. Another retired officer took his life bringing that total to 10. The statistics for other 1 st Responders including Fire, EMS, Military and Corrections Officers are unavailable at this time.

With thorough knowledge of the impact a career as a 1st Responder can have emotionally, physically and mentally, Bryan is opening a wellness centre known as Frontline Forward Ltd. The facility, whose focus is “helping those who help others”,is specialized in working with Frontline staff including paramedics, police, fire, military, registered nurses, doctors, corrections officers and social workers. The first of its kind in North America, the facility offers a fully functional gym, yoga/meditation studio, on site psychotherapy, physiotherapy and massage and fascial stretching therapy.
