Elizabeth Heald, president and CEO is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Robert as Director, Philanthropy at Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation (KWCF).
Dan has spent his entire 15-year career working in the charitable sector, most of which has been right here in Waterloo Region.
For the past 11 years, Dan has been with Wilfrid Laurier University, most recently as the Associate Director, Development: Athletics & Wellness. In this role, Dan led the strategic direction and execution of fundraising efforts to enhance the student experience, with a focus on financial aid, mental health support and experiential learning, while also ensuring varsity sport programs have the resources they need to excel both on and off the field. Prior to this, Dan was the Relay For Life Coordinator at the Canadian Cancer Society in Halton Region.
Dan is quite familiar with KWCF, where he currently volunteers as the Vice Chair of our Youth In Recreation Committee. He also serves on the Board of Governors at Wilfrid Laurier University, and is an executive member of their Management Group. Recently, Dan was a member of the Individual Giving Committee at the United Way Waterloo Region Communities. Dan passionately believes in the importance of giving back, previously volunteering with the Jays Care Foundation, MLSE Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, and Sleeping Children Around The World.
Dan holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he also served as President & CEO of the Students' Union in 2005. A commitment to professional development led Dan to attain his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2017. Dan is also certified in Mental Health First Aid. He is energized by spending time with his wife and son, and both watching and playing a wide range of sports. Dan will join KWCF's team on July 24, 2019.
