Laurier No. 1 in student satisfaction for 4th year in a row

For the fourth year in a row, Wilfrid Laurier University has been ranked No. 1 in the country in its category for student satisfaction in the annual Maclean’s Rankings of Canadian Universities.

Laurier is also ranked No. 1 in five out of 10 student-satisfaction categories, including No. 1 for Course Instructors, Student Life Staff, Extracurricular Activities, Residence Living, and Administrative Staff. Laurier ranked in the top five in the remaining five categories, including No. 2 for Experiential Learning and Academic Advising Staff.

In the overall rankings, Laurier held onto the No. 6 spot nationally among the 15 Canadian universities in the “comprehensive” university category. Laurier also ranked No. 3 in its category nationally for Student Services and in the top five for Faculty Awards and Social Sciences/Humanities Grants.

“Laurier continues to excel in one of the most important categories, student satisfaction, as one of Canada’s top comprehensive universities,” said President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy. “We are committed to providing academic excellence and experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for their futures, within a strong community environment that helps students thrive. These results show that our focus on developing the whole student resonates with our student community.”

Maclean’s places Laurier in the comprehensive category, which includes 15 universities across the country with a “significant degree of research activity and a wide range of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including professional degrees.”

Laurier is a mid-sized university that offers students big opportunities, all with a small community feel. Laurier is a place where people are inspired to learn, lead, and build lifelong relationships; to give their all and to give back. Our commitment to academic excellence ensures our graduates are ready for whatever challenges the future brings and are ready to leave their mark on the world. In our campus communities, the communities we live, learn and work in, and our global community, Laurier builds meaningful connections that have a lasting impact. Laurier is a community that inspires a world of difference.
