DECA Regionals are Returning to St. Mary’s High School!

This Saturday, November 9, 2019 -- for the third time -- SMH will host more than 1500 students and 170 Community/Teacher Volunteer Judges from an area stretching from Windsor to Guelph in the annual DECA Regional Competitions.

DECA = Academic Competitions in Business Problem Solving (Exams, Case Studies, Projects). It prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in hospitality, marketing, law, finance and management in high schools and post-secondary institutions across Ontario. Members compete at Regionals, Provincials, and Internationals in a business case study competition, for awards and scholarships as well as in a variety of business paper competitions. Employers, universities, and colleges alike recognize the achievements of DECA members.

Students will compete in the case study business problem section of the competitions in which they will attempt to convince a community volunteer judge that they have the best solution.

Those students who do well will earn the right to advance to the Provincial Competition in February. If they succeed there they will earn the right to advance to the top level of DECA in Nashville in April.

Members of the business community are welcome to drop by to see the business leaders of tomorrow.
