As we all work together to flatten the curve of the spread of COVID-19 across our region, we here at JA Waterloo Region are encouraged to see all the different ways members in our community are finding to practice physical distancing while maintaining social cohesion.
While we pause all in-person JA programs for the safety of our students, volunteers, and partners, we are thrilled to share the launch of some exciting online programming to continue our mission to prepare students to succeed in a global economy.
Pause of In-Person Programming
With schools in Ontario currently closed until April 6th, all JA classroom programs as well as our After-school Company Program activities scheduled during that time have been postponed and will be rescheduled.
We will continue to monitor health and safety concerns and follow advice from medical professionals as we move forward. We will return to in-person program deliveries as soon as is advisable keeping the safety of our network and community in mind. We will continue to update as we know more on our website: www.jawr.ca/covid19
Launch of FREE Online Programming!
JA Canada has been working hard to make certain JA programming is available online, and with the current global health situation, is launching some programs ahead of schedule with more to come. We encourage you to share these online resources with your contacts to help support our local students in staying connected to their education and planning for their future.
Students in Waterloo Region, Guelph, Brantford, Hamilton, Niagara Region and surrounding towns should select their charter: JA Waterloo Region upon registration.
