This award was presented to Ball Construction, for their project the Atwood Resources Plant Reconstruction. This 31,000 square foot plant replaces an existing facility that was destroyed by fire in 2014. With a new business strategy to implement, this new facility was built to ensure its success. From incorporating existing equipment, to using alternative fuel to heat the building, as well as the new cookers and hydronic flooring, this new plant features state of the art technology and allows the owners to carry on a successful business.

Commercial, five to ten million dollars: Gateman Milloy

Gateman Milloy took the honours in this category, for the Chinguacousy CHIN a GOOSEY Park Skate Trail and Pond. This 100-acre community recreational project has been ongoing for eight years, with the Skate Trail and Pond the latest project designed to create a central gathering place in the public park. The skating rink and reflecting pool along with a public building for restrooms, as well as storing equipment, and the rinks refrigeration units ensures this project is a community favorite for all seasons.

Institutional five to ten million dollars Melloul-Blamey

Melloul Blamey garnered their second award of the evening for their St. Paul’s University/College Residence Addition in Waterloo.

With a tight budget, the construction management project saw the addition of 78 beds, renovations to the washroom and shower areas, connections to the existing cafeteria, additional office space, extensive exterior landscape improvements and dedicated space for the college’s renowned greenhouse program that overlooks the campus.
