WARNER BROS. STUDIOS SUPPORTS CHRISTIE/AIX DIGITAL CINEMA FUNDING PLAN

MORRISTOWN, N.J., On April 20 Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT") (NASDAQ:AIXD) announced it has received the commitment of Warner Bros. Studios to release future movies in digital format as part of Christie/AIX's digital cinema nationwide rollout. The sixth studio backing the plan, Warner Bros. will also pay Christie/AIX virtual print fees for each movie booked helping fund exhibitor adoption of digital cinema equipment.

Online sales recorded their fourth consecutive year of strong double-digit growth in 2005, but e-commerce still accounted for just over 1% of total operating revenues for private firms. Combined private and public sector online sales increased 38.4% to $39.2 billion. Online sales by private firms increased 37.2% to $36.3 billion, while those by the public sector increased 55.4% to $2.9 billion.

Travel between Canada and other countries February 2006

While Canadian residents set a new record for trips to overseas countries in February, same-day car travel from the United States fell to its lowest monthly level on record. A record high 547,000 Canadians travelled to overseas countries. This represented a 1.5% gain from January, the third consecutive monthly increase. (Unless otherwise specified, monthly data are seasonally adjusted whereas exchange rates are not).

Canada's Current economic conditions

On April 20 Statistics Canada stated that Alberta and British Columbia increasingly dominated economic growth early in 2006. Two-thirds of the 101,000 jobs added in the first three months of the year were in these provinces, all in full-time jobs. British Columbia's unemployment rate fell to a record low of 4.4%. The booming economy of these two provinces exercised an increasing pull on population, with gains in the last 12 months of 2.9% in Alberta and 1.8% in British Columbia. Ontario and Quebec both posted increases of 1.7%, while in the six smaller provinces, the overall gain was only 0.1%.

Consumer Price Index - March 2006

The 12-month change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) held steady at 2.2% in March 2006. Excluding energy, the CPI rose 1.7% between March 2005 and March 2006, up slightly from 1.6% in February. The All-items index excluding the eight volatile components identified by the Bank of Canada rose 1.7% on a 12-month basis, the same increase as in the previous two months.

OMERS Releases 2005 Annual Report

TORONTO, OMERS released its 2005 Annual Report today with details of its financial performance. The total fund return was 16.0 per cent in 2005, a top quartile performance that exceeded its benchmark return of 13.2 per cent. Leading indicators for March 2006

The growth of the leading indicator picked up to 0.6% in March, double its increase in February. The advance was spurred by ongoing gains in housing and the stock market since the start of the year. Only 2 of the 10 components declined, both related to manufacturing. The housing index rose 2.9%, its largest since last summer. Housing starts led the increase, especially in Alberta and British Columbia. While unusually warm weather helped new home construction in January, building remained strong in March even as temperatures returned to more seasonal norms.

New Technology Improves Public Transit Efficiency, Increases Convenience For Commuters

QUEEN'S PARK - The Ontario government is improving ride times for commuters by allowing all transit vehicles in the province to install technology that speeds up bus traffic and cuts congestion, announced Transportation Minister Harinder Takhar. With the traffic signal pre-emption technology, buses, streetcars and other transit maintenance vehicles can shorten a red, or lengthen a green traffic signal to their advantage when approaching an intersection. City paving road to the future, addressing backlog of road work

TORONTO - With additional funding from City Council, Toronto's Transportation Services Division is working toward addressing the backlog of roadwork, beginning in 2006. "Council recognizes that our networks of roads cannot be neglected and has stepped to the plate to provide more funding," said Councillor Shelley Carroll, Chair of the City's Works Committee, who added that Toronto Council has supported an increase of approximately $10 million for 2006 to attack the backlog. This money will be used mainly for resurfacing projects to extend the life of some roads and avoid having more roads fall into the backlog category.

BOSTON- - State Street Global Markets, the investment research and trading arm of State Street Corporation , released the results of the State Street Investor Confidence Index(R) for April 2006. According to the April index, investor confidence increased to 82.3 from March's revised reading of 81.9. New motor vehicle sales for February 2006

New motor vehicle sales edged down 0.4% in February. Consumers drove away 136,767 new vehicles in February, a decrease of about 600 vehicles compared to the previous month. Month-to-month movements in auto sales continued to be relatively subdued in recent months following major sales swings throughout much of 2005, which were influenced by "employee pricing" and other special incentive programs. After a steep decline at the end of 2003, new motor vehicle sales partially recovered and then remained relatively stable in 2004.

China’s textile growth to continue
Over the next 10 years, China will continue to exert considerable influence on world cotton textile production, cotton production and trade, with the United States losing on the latter and Brazil gaining, according to a forecast by the Cotton Economics Research Institute (CERI) at Texas Tech University. Clean Air Alliance - Recently, there has been a flurry of calls from the Association of Major Power Consumers (AMPCO) and the editorial board of the Globe and Mail calling for Ontario to consider sticking with end-of-pipe pollution controls instead of phasing-out dirty coal. British Airways' Fuel Surcharge Increased

NEW YORK -- British Airways will increase the fuel surcharge on its longhaul flights from Friday, April 21, 2006, as a result of further rises in the price of fuel. The longhaul fuel surcharge on tickets sold and issued in North America will increase from $55 (CN$65) per sector to $65 (CN$75) per sector ($130/CN$150 round trip). The shorthaul fuel surcharge will remain unchanged at $19 (CN$24) per sector ($38/CN$48 round trip).

A variety of Monsanto Co.'s rapeseed was banned by Austria's Health Ministry Wednesday April 12, according to media reports. The ban of St. Louis-based Monsanto's genetically modified GT73 rapeseed extends through the end of 2008, according to the reports. The ministry's decision said the scientific data on the variety will be re-evaluated at that time.

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing for February 2006

In February, lower prices for several resource-based industries contributed to a sizeable drop in manufacturing shipments and a spike in the inventory-to-shipment ratio. Shipments tumbled 2.2% to $50.7 billion in February, consequently, the sharp drop in shipments boosted the inventory-to-shipment ratio to 1.31 from 1.27 in January. In recent months, the volatility of shipments has caused the ratio to vary more than usual.

On April 13 the Ontario Clean Air Alliance released the following statement: Some of Ontario’s biggest air polluters are calling on the provincial government to walk away from its promise to phase-out the province’s dirty coal-fired power plants. This week, the Association of Major Power Consumers in Ontario (AMPCO), called on the government to forget about the coal phase-out and adopt end-of-pipe pollution controls for coal plants instead -- while fully admitting that such controls will do nothing to curb the humungous greenhouse gas emissions from coal plants.
