OTTAWA- Ontario's export growth is forecast to decline by 3 per cent in 2007 before flattening out in 2008, according to a provincial export outlook by Export Development Canada (EDC). Sears Canada Reports First Quarter Earnings slight decrease in service revenues, slight increase in merchandise - overall quite flat
TORONTO - Sears Canada Inc. announced its unaudited first quarter results. Total revenues for the 13 week period ended March 31, 2007 were $1.219 billion compared to $1.222 billion for the 13 weeks ended April 1, 2006, a decrease of 0.2%. Higher merchandise sales and credit revenues, which increased 0.8% and 2.8%, respectively, were offset by a decline in service and other revenues.

Survey shows "workaholic" label is losing its luster as Canadians seek more time with family
Gap emerging between Canadians' personal values and workplace values
- Nearly 80% of Canadians do not consider themselves "workaholics"
- Family (54%), honesty (25%) and good health (23%) are the values most
important to Canadians while work (10%) and money (5%) are among the
least important.
- For 74% of Canadians, families are where they derive their values
from.
- Almost two-thirds of Canadian workers (65%) believe there is a gap
between workplace and personal values.
- Only 27% of Canadians are convinced that work-life balance is possible.
TORONTO - Bragging rights about being a workaholic may be coming to an end and being replaced by a focus on the family according to a study published today by Desjardins Financial Security.
