First quarter 2007 Apartment Building Construction Price Index up 9.9% from First quarter 2007

The composite price index for apartment building construction (1997=100) was 149.3 in the first quarter, up 1.4% from the previous quarter and up 9.9% from the first quarter of 2006. The quarterly increase was mostly the result of higher labour and materials costs and a strong market for building construction, particularly in Western Canada.
