Execulink Telecom Takes On Goliath

Execulink Telecom faces the challenge of a deregulated market, and continues its plans to offer local phone/digital phone in London and throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Execulink Telecom, a small telecommunications company based out of Southwestern Ontario, has just announced that it will provide local phone service, despite a recent government decision to deregulate the market. Without local phone regulations in place it is much harder for smaller providers to compete in a market dominated by a small number of billion dollar companies.

Residential construction investment increases in First quarter 2007 in most provinces except Ontario, PEI, NFLD, NS, NWT and Yukon.

Investment in residential construction reached $18.3 billion in the first quarter of 2007, up 6.1% from the same quarter in 2006. Whereas new housing remained strong and posted some gains, the increase in investment in renovations made the largest contribution to this growth.

First quarter 2007 Picks up Steam according to StatsCan

The economy picked up steam in the first quarter of 2007 as real gross domestic product (GDP) advanced 0.9%, more than twice the pace of last quarter. A slight pick-up in consumer spending and an inventory build-up resulting from strong production fuelled the advance. Investment in fixed capital slowed and exports eased.
