Quark And Alfresco Announce New Partnership
Collaboration Pairs Two Pioneers in Open Standards-Based Enterprise
Technology
DENVER & LONDON - Quark Inc. and Alfresco Software, Inc. announced a new partnership to develop integrated enterprise-class publishing and content management solutions for professional and corporate publishers.
With 15 years of workgroup publishing experience, Quark has designed
technologies such as Quark Publishing System 7(R) (QPS(R) 7) to streamline the
editorial and creative workflow processes while improving production.
Alfresco, the leading open source alternative for enterprise content
management (ECM), couples the innovation of open source with the stability of
an enterprise-class platform.
This new partnership will enable Quark and Alfresco to provide
cost-effective end-to-end content management and publishing solutions based on
open standards - enabling seamless integration with an organization's existing
business system. Publishers will benefit from Quark and Alfresco's combined
technologies which are both highly scalable, easy to deploy, and enable
real-time collaboration and timely content delivery.
"The biggest challenge within the content creation workflow within any
organization is a seamless integration of the content with traditionally
siloed systems," said Mukul Krishna, Global Manager, Digital Media Practice,
Frost & Sullivan. "The Quark and Alfresco partnership is exactly the sort of
integration that the market needs to create more efficient workflows in the
form of end-to-end solutions that integrate content management with dynamic
publishing throughout the content lifecycle."
"Quark's partnership with Alfresco expands our functionality into the
open source community," said Linda Chase, general manager, QPS. "We look
forward to providing professional and corporate publishers with easy-to-deploy
workflow and production solutions based on open standards."
"Alfresco is excited to work with Quark to develop and deliver innovative
end-to-end publishing and content management solutions," commented John
Powell, CEO and co-founder, Alfresco Software. "Alfresco is seeing tremendous
adoption across publishing, media and government sectors. This is being driven
by the need to efficiently repurpose content for today's dynamic publishing
market. Through this collaboration with Quark, we will be able to offer media
and publishing organizations the opportunity to use a robust and enterprise
scale solution at an affordable price."
