2009 Models Already Here

The 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon has arrived

AJAX - Volkswagen announced that the new 2009 Jetta Wagon has arrived at dealerships, with a base price of $23,475.

Based on the fifth-generation Jetta, the 2009 Jetta Wagon features the responsive 2.5 litre inline five cylinder engine that develops 170 HP and 177 lb/ft of torque. This engine is matched to either a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic(TM). Despite its low price, which is $2,745 less than the starting price of its predecessor, a high-level of standard equipment is found: air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, heated electric exterior mirrors, remote-locking with anti-theft alarm, 8-speaker MP3-readable CD player with auxiliary input jack, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, 8-way adjustable front seats with safety optimized headrests, front and side airbags, 16 inch wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, traction control, and a full-size spare tire. In addition to the vast list of safety features, are optional Electronic Stabilization Programme, front and rear side curtain airbags, and rear side airbags.

The 2009 Jetta Wagon benefits from its laser-welding production process, class-leading fit and finish, tremendous body strength, crash protection, driving dynamics, and low interior noise. Drivers of the Jetta Wagon benefit from its fully independent suspension system that uses a multi-link rear and optimized front strut setup, as well as an electro-mechanical steering system.

The vehicle's roofline is enhanced by a standard roof railing, which is exclusive to this model. In addition, the 2009 Jetta Wagon can receive an optional panoramic sunroof. With this large sunroof, occupants of both the front and rear seating areas will benefit from a light-filled ambiance. The roof consists of two halves, the front section of which can be raised as well as completely opened. To preserve full interior height, the opening segment is driven out above the closed section of roof. An electrically-powered sunshade can be used when less sunlight is desired. Its spacious trunk area can accommodate 66.9 cubic feet of cargo with its 60/40 rear seats folded. Even with its rear seat up, the Jetta Wagon offers a surprising 32.8 cubic feet of trunk space.

The new Jetta Wagon is manufactured at our production facility in Puebla, Mexico, alongside the Jetta Sedan.

For added assurance, the 2009 Jetta Wagon comes with 24-hour Roadside Assistance for four years or 80,000 kilometres and new vehicle warranties including:

- Five-year/100,000 kilometres (whichever occurs first) Powertrain Limited Warranty

- Four-year/80,000 kilometres (whichever occurs first) New Vehicle Limited Warranty with wear and tear items and adjustments excluded after the initial 12 months/20,000 kilometres
