New Treasurer

City of Guelph hires new Treasurer - Margaret Neubauer to start May 12.

GUELPH – The City of Guelph is pleased to announce that Margaret Neubauer has officially been hired to fill the position of Director of Finance/City Treasurer and will begin on May 12, 2008.

“As the new Treasurer, Margaret brings extensive municipal financial stewardship to the City of Guelph and I am very pleased to welcome her," says Hans Loewig, Chief Administrative Officer. "Her background and understanding of municipal finance will be of great benefit to the City. Further, Margaret’s experience as a municipal Treasurer will be an asset in providing the required financial leadership in implementing the City’s Strategic Plan.”

Ms. Neubauer comes to the City of Guelph from the Town of Fort Erie where she has served as Treasurer, Acting CAO and Director of Corporate Services since 1993. She holds a Chartered Accountant designation and brings extensive strategic, long range financial planning and comprehensive financial management skills to the position.

Prior to her work with the Town of Fort Erie, Ms. Neubauer was a Manager with a private Chartered Accountant firm where she was responsible for the audit function
