Ontario Government Supporting The Elora Festival, Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival, Festival of Lights And Santa's Festival Village, The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show

TORONTO - The Elora Festival will receive more than $60,000 from Ontario to help expand programming, attract more visitors and boost the local economy, announced Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca today. The Elora Festival runs from July 11 to August 3.

The Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival will receive $75,000 from Ontario to help expand programming, attract more visitors and boost the local economy, announced Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca today. The Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival runs from July 24 to 27.

The Town of Ingersoll Festival of Lights and Santa's Festival Village will receive more than $27,000 from Ontario to help expand programming, attract more visitors and boost the local economy, announced Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca today. The holiday celebration runs from November 13, 2008 until January 4, 2009.

The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show will receive more than $50,000 from Ontario to help expand programming, attract more visitors and boost the local economy, announced Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca today. The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show runs from October 7 to 13.

The events are some of 90 across the province that will receive funding through Celebrate Ontario, launched in 2006 to support the growth of festivals and events.

"Festivals and events play a major role in boosting tourism across the province," said Fonseca. "Tourism is an important economic driver and ensuring its long-term growth is part of our plan to strengthen Ontario's economic advantage."
