Harper Group Inc. merges its dealership operations

Harper Freightliner Inc. and Harper Ontario Truck Centres Inc. merge to form Harper Truck Centres Inc.

TORONTO - Paul and Steve Harper co-owners of Harper Group Inc. are pleased to announce the merger of their truck dealerships under the new name Harper Truck Centres Inc. According to Paul Harper, "The merger is scheduled to be completed by May 1, 2008."

Both Harper Ontario Truck Centres Inc. and Harper Freightliner Inc. will operate its six locations under the new name, Harper Truck Centres Inc.

This new name will establish the Harper dealerships with a common name while providing distinct world class truck sales, service and parts for the Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star and Condor brands.

This merger of two of Canada's largest truck dealerships is taking place to further enhance the synergies that exist between the two dealerships. "By merging these two organizations we will be in a greater position to better service our customers through a common company," said Paul Harper.

The name change will allow Harper Truck Centres Inc. to establish itself with a prominent brand identity as well as being the leading truck dealership operation in Ontario. "By fostering a one-company mentality through Harper Truck Centres Inc. we will be able to better leverage these dealerships and continue to offer superior products and service to our customers in a more efficient manner," said Steve Harper.

Harper Group Inc. is also proud to announce John Nelligan as Dealer Principal and shareholder of Harper Truck Centres Inc. The Harper dealership business has grown substantially under Nelligan's tenure through the addition of two locations in Oshawa and Milton and also adding the Western Star and Condor franchise to all three former Harper Ontario Truck Centres Inc. locations. "The Harper Group has always shown a strong commitment to the industry and I am proud to be a part of this new chapter with the organization," said Nelligan. With the expansion of his duties, he will now oversee all six Harper Truck Centres Inc. dealership operations.

This merger significantly enhances Harper's commitment to the industry today and in the future. "We are committed to providing excellent support and service to our customers. This merger is further indicative of our commitment and dedication to the trucking community." said Paul Harper.

The dealerships will merge in a manner that will not interrupt with their ability to effectively service customers. All aspects of the truck sales and commercial operations will remain entirely separate and focused on the individual brands.
