Rogers Television becomes Rogers TV

WATERLOO REGION – Starting Monday, April 14th, Rogers Television cable 20 will sport a new name and a fresh new logo. The extensive re-brand was undertaken in part to celebrate the company’s 40 years of providing quality local television.

“Starting next week, Rogers Television becomes Rogers TV,” says Jeremy Clark, Regional Station Manager. Clark says the milestone anniversary presented a perfect opportunity for the rebranding. “They say life begins at 40 so it seemed perfectly fitting to mark our 40th year of local television with an engaging new appearance,” Clark explains. “It’s important to us to stay connected to our communities and to continue to grow and evolve with them. In making these interesting changes, we’re extending an invitation to people to rediscover their local community channel.”

Clark adds the new look represents a giant move forward in personality, substance and quality. “Our new logo is clean, contemporary and well suited to both our program offering and to the company’s overall brand strategy.”

The new Rogers TV logo combines the familiar aspect of the Rogers custom typeface with a bold and fresh new feature dubbed the “TV roundel”. The new on-air image appropriately symbolises Rogers TV as a connector of people and a touchstone for the community. The roundel serves as a connector and can be seen streaming through and around various environments, visually connecting people, activity and neighbourhoods. The connector streams then pour back into the roundel, the hub of all this positive energy: Rogers TV.

The local station’s website, www.rogerstv.com, will also undergo a makeover on April 14th, one designed entirely in-house. Additional profile has been given to the Community Billboard section of the website. Local events and announcements, input by community groups, will now be found on rogerstv.com’s homepage.

Rogers TV is a one of a kind television channel tailor-made for local audiences. Every year, our stations produce over 15,000 hours of original, informative local programming, reinforcing Rogers Cable's commitment to the communities we serve. Rogers TV is a service available exclusively to cable customers as part of the basic service of Rogers Cable Communications Inc., Canada's largest cable company, delivering high quality entertainment, information and communication services to 2.2 million customers in Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

Rogers TV, cable 20 serves the cities and communities of Waterloo Region, Guelph, Brantford and Stratford.
