Taxes Harmonization
Single Administration of Ontario Corporate Taxes Start January 1, 2009
Ottawa - Be advised that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will administer both Federal and Ontario corporate taxes for taxation years ending after December 31, 2008. This means that corporations will soon file only one harmonized corporate tax return as accepted and audited by CRA.
To transition into this harmonized system, as of April 3, 2008 CRA will begin integrated services with the Ontario Ministry of Revenue (OMoR). During this “pre-harmonized” period, corporations will still file their provincial corporate tax return (CT23) with OMoR and OMoR will continue to be the point of contact for enquiries.
General questions can be directed to OMoR at 1-866-805-7702.
