Ontario Celebrates Innovation In Health Care
McGuinty Government Announces Finalists For Innovations In Health Care
Awards
TORONTO - A mobile health clinic in Eastern Ontario, a cardiac rehabilitation
program in Toronto and a program to bring fresh produce to a Waterloo Region
hospital are amongst the 18 finalists for the 2008 Celebrating Innovations in
Health Care Awards.
The awards are part of an annual exposition held in recognition of
achievement in health care innovation. The Celebrating Innovations in Health
Care Expo, presented by Ontario's 14 Local Health Integration Networks and the
Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, is an annual showcase of original
initiatives that are driving innovation in Ontario's health care system and
ultimately delivering better patient care.
Award winners will be announced at the Expo on April 22 in Toronto. Award
finalists have been determined for each of these six categories:

- Improving Quality and Patient Safety
- Improving Efficiency Through Process Redesign
- Innovations in Health Information Management
- Innovations in Health Human Resources
- Innovations in Health Promotion
In addition, there will be a People's Choice Award determined by votes
from exposition attendees. Over three hundred organizations will be displaying
their innovations at the Expo.

CELEBRATING HEALTH CARE INNOVATION IN ONTARIO EXPO 2008 FINALISTS
Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2008 showcases some of the
leading initiatives underway in support of Ontario's health care system. More
than 300 exhibitors will promote creative ideas to address important health
care issues. The Expo presents an opportunity to share knowledge and generate
the potential for new approaches to benefit health care delivery for
Ontarians.
The 2008 Innovations in Health Care Awards are presented in recognition
of outstanding innovation in six designated categories. This year's finalists
were chosen by an independent panel of health care experts from over 400
submissions. The finalists include:
