THE KITCHENER-WATERLOO SYMPHONY LAUNCHES A NEW CORPORATE CLUB
The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony (KWS) announces the launch of its new Corporate Club. The program was launched at the Chamber of Commerce’s Networking Breakfast Series by KWS Board Chair Bob Astley.
“We designed this program as a way to reach out to members of the corporate community who are looking for a different way to entertain staff and clients the program is a great way for the corporate community to support one of the greatest cultural assets of Waterloo Region." Broek Bosma, KWS Director of Development
With a corporate donation to the KWS, businesses will receive a charitable tax receipt, as well
as corporate box seats to their choice of concerts in the 2008/2009 season.
Two membership levels are available:
o Two box seats for four concerts - $1,250 (includes a tax receipt for $920)
o A complete box (4 seats) for four concerts - $2,000 (includes a tax receipt for $1,340)
KWS Board member Willy Heffner is a strong proponent of the arts in Waterloo Region and
encourages other members of the corporate community to be community-minded. He says, “It’s
a common belief that business is good for the arts; however I discovered from personal
experience that the arts can also be good for business.”
The 08/09 concert season kicks off in September. Members can choose from a wide range of
concerts, including Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Oscar-winning composer and conductor Bill
Conti, and a special Oktoberfest Symphony.
The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony enhances the quality of life in the communities which it engages and
is one of the most valued cultural gems for our region. Consisting of 52 full time musicians, a nationally
recognized Youth Orchestra, and following a mandate of 60 concerts per season, the Symphony plays a
vital role to continue the tradition of presenting great music to audiences across the region and beyond.
