Subaru Canada: Best April Sales Ever

MISSISSAUGA - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) announced a new April sales record as total retails of 1,970 vehicles soared 35.3 percent compared to last April. It's the fifth consecutive month of strengthening sales for Subaru, which is rebounding strongly from the sluggish auto industry performance of 2007.

April was a robust month almost across the Subaru lineup. It was the best month ever for Forester, with sales up 99.7 percent over April of last year. It was also an all-time record month for Impreza, as sales of that model grew 28.5 percent for the month. Outback sales were up by 12.2 percent, and Tribeca sales also grew by 1.9 percent for the month.

"Impreza is our highest-volume model, so to see sales jump by such a large margin over last April is outstanding news," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, chairman, president and CEO of SCI. "We are equally delighted to see continuing strong interest in Forester, and very much look forward to seeing consumer reaction to the new 2009 Forester, which went on sale this month."
