Honda Canada sets April sales record

Record April sales for Honda Fit, Civic, CR-V, Ridgeline, Pilot and Acura TSX

TORONTO - Honda Canada Inc. reported combined record April sales of 18,634 units by its Honda and Acura divisions, a 23% increase over last year's April sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported record April sales of 16,412 units, up 22% over last year. The Acura Division reported April sales of 2,222 units, up 33% over last year.

"We are very thankful that Canadian consumers are showing their appreciation for our product offerings by selecting our fuel-efficient cars and trucks, especially at a time with high fuel costs across Canada," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president, Honda Canada Inc.

- Honda Fit sets record April sales of 1,722 units, up 37% over last year, and up 35% over the previous April sales record of 1,278 units in 2006

- Honda Civic sets record sales of 8,081 units, up 27% over last year, and up 9% over the previous April sales record of 7,418 units in 2002

- Honda CR-V sets record April sales of 2,159 units, up 14% over last year, and up 11% over the previous April sales record of 1,940 units in 2002

- Honda Ridgeline sets record April sales of 467 units, up 17% over last year, and up from the previous April sales record of 464 units in 2006

- Honda Pilot sets record April sales of 692 units, up 93% over last year, and up 69% over the previous April sales record of 409 units in 2003

- Honda Civic Hybrid sets record April sales of 285 units, up 26% over last year

- Honda Accord sales of 2,185 were up 8% over last year

Acura April sales highlights include:

- Acura TSX sets April sales record of 646 units, up 322% over last year, and up 55% from the previous April sales record of 416 units in 2003, in addition to a new all-time monthly sales record (up 28% over the previous monthly record of 504 units in August 2005)

- Acura CSX sales up 36% over last year

- Acura RL sales up 28% over last year
