Citi and JPMorgan Tie for Overall Best Analysis of Asian Equities in Institutional Investor's

2008 All-Asia Research Team Survey

New York, NY - With 26 total team positions each, Citi Investment Research and JPMorgan Securities share top honors for producing the best coverage of Asia’s equity markets, according to Institutional Investor's 15th Annual All-Asia Research Team survey.

Citi, which advances from second place in 2007 to claim top honors for the first time in the 2008 survey, captures eight first-place finishes, the same number as last year. JPMorgan, enjoying its second straight appearance at No. 1, wins seven first-place finishes, two more than last year.

UBS slips one spot to third but holds steady with 24 total positions - first, second and third teams and runners-up. Credit Suisse is the big mover, vaulting from ninth place to fourth, with 19 positions, ten more than last year. Rounding out the top five is Goldman Sachs (Asia), down a notch from last year. It has 18 positions, two more than in 2007.

The results are based on the responses of more than 1,200 buy-side analysts and investment professionals at more than 550 institutions managing an estimated $1.3 trillion in non-Japanese Asian equities.

Best Coverage in Industries and Strategies & Economics Categories

Within groups of sectors, Citi is best in Industries and Strategy & Economics coverage in Asia.

Citi captured 16 total team positions in the 19 sectors that make up theses portions of the survey; JPMorgan Securities finished in second place with 15 team positions. Citi's performance includes first-place finishes for Technology/IT Services & Software, Technology/Semiconductors, Transportation, and Telecommunications teams.

Best Coverage of Asian Equities on a Country and Regional Basis

JPMorgan Securities publishes the best coverage of Asian equities on a country and regional basis. The firm won 11 team positions in the 11 Countries & Regions categories in the survey, including first-place finishes for the China team led by Frank Gong, the Hong Kong team headed by Steven Li and the Thailand team captained by Sriyan Pietersz.

Citi shares second place with UBS; each firm won ten team positions.
