Ontario Place Welcomes New General Manager

John Tracogna named new Ontario Place General Manager

Toronto - Ontario Place, announced the selection of John Tracogna as the successful candidate in its search for a new General Manager. John will assume the General Manager's role on June 16 and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the lakefront attraction.

"The Ontario Place Board of Directors and staff are pleased to have Mr. Tracogna lead our team," said Chair David Crombie. "As the new General Manager, John brings great experience and new ideas to an integral piece of Toronto's waterfront. I am confident that John's commitment will ensure that Ontario Place continues to fulfill its mandate as a prime tourist destination that celebrates families and the Province's rich cultural diversity."

Mr. Tracogna has a wealth of senior leadership experience in both policy operations, strategic planning, and developing sustainable partnerships with both the public and private sectors. For the past six years, John has served as Director, Toronto International Tourism, with the City of Toronto.

John is an accomplished executive with leadership experience in Economic Development, Special Events and Tourism with the municipalities of Brampton and Toronto.

"I'm very excited to join an organization with such a vibrant history of providing Ontario families with lasting memories," said Tracogna. "I look forward to working closely with Ontario Place's team of dedicated professionals, Board Members and Ministry of Tourism representatives to continue to create world-class events such as the Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival and the Canada Dry Festival of Fire."

"John Tracogna is an excellent choice to build on the success and innovative partnerships that Ontario Place has enjoyed over the past few years," said Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca. "I look forward to working with Mr. Tracogna and his team as we chart a new course for tourism that will make Ontario a destination of choice for more travelers."
