Steelworkers ratify two-year agreement with Canadian General Tower
CAMBRIDGE - United Steelworkers' (USW) Ontario/Atlantic Director announced Tuesday that members of Local 862 have ratified a new two-year agreement with Canadian General Tower Limited (CGT).
The agreement for 400 employees, who manufacture flexible polymer
products for a variety of industries including automotive, have won wage and
pension increases, improved retiree life insurance, better benefits and a
better job classification system.
The USW is Canada's most diverse union, representing more than
280,000 men and women working in every sector of Canada's economy. CGT is one
of the largest employers in Cambridge and the company's history goes back to
the 19th Century.
