Nurun Names Steve Carbone President of North America

Direct and interactive agency leader to drive company's vision in Canada and the United States

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Nurun Inc , announced that Steve Carbone has joined the agency as its president of North America. As the newest member of the company's global executive team of leaders and strategists, Carbone is responsible for the execution of Nurun's vision and mission, its overall growth, the identification of strategic investment opportunities, and client direction in both the United States and Canada. This is the first time Nurun has appointed a president of North America.

"One of the agency's objectives in 2008 is to strengthen our positioning in the United States," said Jacques-Herve Roubert, CEO of Nurun Inc. "An integral part of that strategic priority involved creating the position of a president in North America and hiring an individual with the leadership skills and passion not just for marketing, but who understood the convergence of consumers, advertising, and new digital mediums.

"Steve's leadership and experience coming from a large global agency made him a natural fit when it came to Nurun's North American focus and global strategy," he added. "His proven foresight in interactivity and keen business sense were exactly what we were looking for in this pivotal role."

With more than 20 years of advertising experience, Carbone was most recently a member of Grey Group's, G2 executive team. He joined Grey Advertising in 1991, and started one of the company's interactive businesses, Grey E Marketing, before becoming president of G2 Direct & Digital (formerly Grey Direct) in 2004. During his tenure at Grey, he worked with a number of high-profile clients including Adobe, BP, BellSouth, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Oracle, Lucent Technologies, Seagrams Spirits & Wines, CheapTickets, Sun Chemical, and Nestle Waters.

"Joining the Nurun global organization presented a number of unique opportunities for me, both personally and professionally," said Carbone. "Outside of the United States, Nurun is recognized as a leading full-service interactive marketing agency with worldclass global clients. One of my goals is to establish Nurun as a leader in the United States and position the agency as a strategic partner that provides clients with successful and measurable results.

"Going forward at Nurun, our focus will be to combine forward-thinking, innovative concepts with our IT expertise to produce creative and technical solutions through digital channels," he added.

Throughout his career, Carbone's indicators of success were based in large part on his ability to grow revenue through strong client relationships. He said he is hoping to yield similar results at Nurun by instilling a renewed sense of commitment to its clients. "It's an exciting time to be a part of a pure-play interactive agency which, more and more, is becoming the lead agency for marketers," said Carbone. "I'm looking forward to being a part of the leadership of Nurun where I can hone our unique positioning, contribute to the expansion of our North American vision, and help build a world-class global organization."

In his role at Nurun, Carbone will lead creative teams, client services professionals, analytics experts, search specialists, interactive media planners and buyers, and directors in Nurun's North American offices in New York, Atlanta, Montreal, and Toronto. He will be based in New York.
