Rosy profit picture in store for Canadian stocks
TORONTO - Earnings among TSX composite firms appear poised to smash earlier projections with resource stocks leading the charge, notes a new CIBC World Markets report. The three industries that comprise the computer services industry in Canada saw their combined operating revenues increase to $33.1 billion in 2006, up 7.5% from 2005. The operating profit margin, at 6.3%, was little changed from the previous year.

KITCHENER Three new affordable housing projects in Waterloo Region, which will create a total of 166 affordable housing units under the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program, were officially opened today by the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, and the Region of Waterloo.

Consumer prices accelerated for the first time in six months in April 2008 in the wake of higher gasoline prices and fewer incentives on passenger vehicles.
