“Demand for Healthcare Workers in Waterloo Wellington - 2008-2017”

Cambridge - A new study by The Waterloo Wellington Training & Adjustment Board (WWTAB) estimates that from 2008-2012 at least 1893 new workers will be required to replace retirees and accommodate growth in the population. From 2013 to 2017 an additional 2800+ new workers will be required. 16 health care sector occupations were reviewed during the study. These occupations are employed in the following areas: Hospitals, Ambulance Services, Long-term care facilities, Retirement Homes, Healthcare Clinics; Placement Services, Diagnostic/Imaging Services and Physiotherapists/Occupational/Sports Therapists.
