Gore Mutual Insurance Company Donates $2 Million

TORONTO - Gore Mutual Insurance Company announced yesterday that they have donated $2 million to their charitable foundation. This is the company's largest contribution to date.

The Gore Mutual Insurance Company Foundation was established to support worthwhile causes in the communities where Gore Mutual's clients live. The Gore Mutual Foundation works closely with local independent insurance brokers to determine ways in which they can make a difference.

"One of Gore Mutual's core values is a commitment to community," says Kevin McNeil, President and CEO of Gore Mutual. "Our brokers are leaders in supporting worthwhile causes in their communities and we are pleased to support their efforts."

In 2007, the Gore Mutual Foundation made donations to over 100 organizations including purchasing a CT scanner, supporting camp programs for children with illnesses, providing affordable housing for adults with developmental difficulties, and helping to furnish a new cancer treatment wing. Organizations that received support include United Way, The Children's Aid Society of Owen Sound, Sarnia Lambton Task Force on Healthcare Worker Recruitment, British Columbia Federation of Foster Parent Association and HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre.
