Increased Sales

BMW Group Canada achieves new sales records - Record sales month for BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad.

WHITBY, ON - BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI brands combined) reported a July monthly sales record of 2,640 units. Sales of BMW and MINI vehicles increased 8.3% in July compared to July 2007. Year-to-date BMW and MINI sales are 16,826 units, an increase of 228 units or 1.4 % over the same period last year. In July, 2139 BMWs were retailed, an increase of 1.3% over last July. BMW year-to-date sales are 13,974 units, down by 2.8% compared to last year.

Total Pre-Owned BMW sales were 878 units in July, up 29.5% over July 2007. Of those 878 units, 707 units were BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned vehicles, an increase of 44.9% compared to June 2007. Year-to-date BMW Certified Pre-Owned sales of 4,232 units are up 9.7% compared to the same period last year. Total year-to-date overall Pre-Owned sales are 5,131 units, a slight decline of 0.23 % over 2007.

MINI Canada set its best ever year-over-year monthly sales increase in July, representing the second successive month of 50%+ increases over the previous year. Sales of MINI were up 53.7% in July to 501 units. MINI has retailed 2,852 units in Canada year-to-date, an increase of 28.4% compared to the same period last year.

Total MINI Pre-Owned sales for July reached a best-ever 118 units, an increase of 107.02% over 2007. Year-to-date total MINI Pre-Owned sales are 565 MINIs, up 53.5% compared to the same period last year. MINI Next Certified Pre-Owned sales were 68 units in July, up 78.95% from July 2007. MINI Pre-Owned sales were 50 units, an increase of 163.16% over the previous year.

"Having set sales records in five out of the last six months, and with an increase in year to date MINI sales of almost 30% this year versus last, it's obvious that more and more Canadians are coming to the realization that MINI is the most exciting premium small car in the world," enthused Stephen McDonnell, Director of MINI Canada.

BMW Motorrad Canada reported its third consecutive record month in July with sales of 203 units sold, up 23% compared to the same month the previous year. Year-to-date, Motorrad has retailed 1142 units, down 0.7% from last year.
