Volunteers Sought
Wanna Warhol? - Museum hosts special info session for interested volunteers
Kitchener The Children’s Museum’s upcoming exhibition, Andy Warhol’s Factory 2009 is expected to have the Museum running at capacity for its three month run and the Museum is looking for volunteers to help run it smoothly.
There has been a call put out to interested volunteers with a variety of ages, interests, skills and backgrounds to help support the Museum to host the upcoming show. Volunteers are needed to assist with security, docent lead tours, running events, admissions, delivering programs and marketing and promotions.
On October 25th from 2PM to 4PM the Museum is hosting an open house for interested individuals and groups to learn more about the show and specially the opportunities to help support it. Tours, job descriptions, applications and a question and answer period will be available for all that attend.
“The Museum is fortunate to have a large active volunteer base already,” explains David Marskell, the Museum’s CEO. He continues, “However Warhol will mean longer hours, more visitors and programs, increased security and inevitably things we haven’t yet thought about and we need to basis o volunteers to aid in supporting the staff.”
Tracy Moxon, the Museum’s Volunteer Manager says “we already attract hundreds of dedicated and talented volunteers and we’re confident that even more will step up to the challenge Warhol will bring.”
The exhibition Andy Warhol’s Factory 2009 will open to the pubic beginning January 10th. More information on the Volunteer Information Session is available on www.TheChildrensMuseum.ca.
