Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village to acknowledge support of local businesses

Waterloo Region – The Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village will celebrate the Grand Opening of its recently renovated Sparky’s Apartment on Thursday, February 07, 2008 from 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. at the Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village, Fire Education Classroom, located at 200 Maple Grove Rd, Cambridge.

Sparky’s Apartment is an interactive teaching tool used to help students learn about fire safety and survival in their homes.

We will be joined by grade 6 students of St. Clement’s Catholic School, representatives from the Municipal Fire Departments and the Waterloo Regional Police Service, as we thank the community partners who helped to make this project such a success.

The Safety Village would like to recognize the contributions to this project by Mc Donald’s Restaurants of

Kitchener-Waterloo and local interior designer Suzanne Tait of Suzanne Tait Design. We would also like to thank all the businesses that supported this project with materials, and worked together to make it such a success. A hands-on tour of Sparky’s Apartment will be provided followed by refreshments and a time of celebration.

The Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village, is a non-profit community service organization that educates more than 20,000 students in the Waterloo Region each year at no charge. Its services are made possible with corporate and private sponsorship and donations. Over the past 15 years more than 250,000 students have participated in its Safety Programs which aim to help keep the community’s children safe.
