Fight Against Litter

The Aud Challenges Rangers Fans and launch's anti-litter campaign this Friday

KITCHENER - The Aud is challenging Kitchener Rangers hockey fans to score a win in the fight against litter.

Starting this Friday, Feb. 1, The Aud will launch a new anti-litter campaign, encouraging hockey fans to take their litter with them from the stands after the Rangers games.

"We want to give people cause to think about the difference they can make if they take responsibility for their own garbage and dispose of it in a proper way," said Kim Kugler, manager of The Aud. "The solution to the problem is literally in their hands."

Part of the anti-litter campaign features a number of new recycling bins that have been set up around the building.

Each bin will soon list what products and packaging from the facility's concession treats can be recycled - making it easier for fans to think green when disposing of their garbage.

Additionally, contests will run throughout the hockey games, giving fans the chance to win prizes for keeping their sections tidy.

Fans will also have the chance to show off their hockey skills and recycling knowledge during the intermission.

More information will be posted around The Aud and on the score clock during each game.

And - starting in late February - fans who choose to carpool to and from the hockey games will could be recognized for their efforts.

Fans spotted with three or more people in their vehicles on game nights will be given a ticket for a prize draw.
