enGene Inc. Announces Changes to the Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA- enGene Inc., a privately held biotechnology company developing an innovative approach for the treatment of diabetes called GEMS(TM)-Insulin, announced yesterday that the board welcomed new member A. Sinclair Dunlop and announced the retirement of John C. Brown and A. Lad Burgin from the board following their significant contribution to enGene.

"Sinclair brings significant investment and negotiation experience to complement enGene's board of directors," said Jack Wood, Chairman and Director of enGene Inc. "We believe his contributions will be invaluable to enGene as we progress through the next phase of our strategic development."

Mr. Dunlop has over a decade of international experience in evaluating early-stage technology companies. As Managing Partner of Masa Life Science Ventures, he currently leads the review and analysis of Fund investment candidates. A former international business and economics analyst with the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington, D.C., Mr. Dunlop holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School where he was the R.C. Kopf British-American Fellow in international business. He also holds an M.A. with Honors in Political Economy from the University of Glasgow and an M.A. in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He is a St. Andrews Society of New York Scholar.

John C. Brown Ph.D., D.Sc., FRSC is a co-founder of the company and has served on the Board since inception in November 1999. He has provided leadership as Chairman of the Board and as a Member of both the Audit/Risk and Executive Compensation Committees. Lad Burgin, President and CEO of HRMG, Inc. was appointed to the Board in July 2002. He served as Chairman of the Executive Compensation Committee and Member of the Audit/Risk Committee.
