Major Investment to be Announced in Groundbreaking Made-in-Ontario Clean Energy Technologies

Waterloo - With energy and environmental issues at an all-time high, the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) Inc. and its industry and academic partners will announce a major investment in groundbreaking clean energy projects that promise to change the way Ontarians think about, and use, energy, at the following news conference with David McFadden, Chair, Board of Directors, Ontario Centres of Excellence and The Honourable John Wilkinson, Minister of Research and Innovation
on Monday, February 11, 2008 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Accelerator Centre, Waterloo, Ontario 295 Hagey Blvd., 1st Floor, West Entrance

The projects which involve industry, researchers and students from across the province will develop technologies for cleaner and more efficient ways to generate, consume and manage energy. They will address issues critical to Ontario energy mix, including hydrogen fuel, solar power, energy conservation and demand management. Each project promises to transform the sector benefiting consumers, institutions and industry alike by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, delivering economic returns, and putting Ontario at the forefront of sustainable, commercially-viable clean energy solutions.
