News Group CEO wins CIRI Lifetime Achievement Award

TORONTO - CNW Group President & CEO, Tom Enright, was awarded the 2008 CIRI Lifetime Achievement Award in investor relations at the IR magazine Canada Awards 2008 annual black-tie gala dinner held at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto on Thursday, February 7.

The award was presented by Ian Bacque, President and CEO, CIRI, who commented, "I am pleased to present Tom with the CIRI Lifetime Achievement Award. Tom is a leader whose work has touched every investor in Canada and dramatically improved the way we do business. In addition, Tom has helped raise the standard for the delivery of critical business information during a period when investors demand real-time data as time zones and media cycles are being erased."

Commenting on the award, Tom Enright said, "I am honoured to be the recipient of this prestigious award and I am pleased the investor relations profession is increasingly being recognized as having a strategic role within Canadian organizations. It is important that we continue to mentor the next generation of investor relations professionals, as investors and markets continue to demand real-time data in increasingly faster time frames."

On Friday morning, Tom Enright will join award winners and representatives of IR magazine in opening trading at the TSX.
