Philanthropy and the Arts
Fete Romantique once again is a big winner for Guelph Arts Council, raising $16 000 in support of the Council's arts and heritage services and programs in the community.
Guelph - This year's lucky winner of the coveted Fête Romantique Grand Prize is Paul Gazzola, a Guelph native who is the owner operator of a local mortgage company. He has been a generous supporter of Fête Romantique for the last several years. Paul and five guests of his choosing will be treated to an elegant multi-course dinner being co-ordinated by Platters Catering and Events and served by members of Guelph Arts Council on Saturday, February 16, 2008. The Grand Prize affair takes place in a fabulous local heritage home and comes complete with complimentary limousine service.
Thirty-one other fortunate individuals also won Fête Romantique prizes, such as tickets to local concerts, theatres and festivals as well as gift certificates to Guelph restaurants or the products and services of fine local businesses. (See list following.)
At the draw event on January 31, 2008, Fete Romantique Co-chair Melodie Wwynne acknowledged the generous contributions of the prize donors as well as the time and effort of Board, staff and friends who ensured the success of the major Guelph Arts Council fundraiser.
