London - Keeping some of Western’s best graduates in London to join our city’s workforce is one of the goals of a new ‘Job Shadowing Experience’ being launched by the Faculty of Social Science at The University of Western Ontario.

The program will see 39 students from the Aubrey Dan Program in Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) at Western, shadowing managers at 17 companies and organizations including the City of London, the Grand Theatre, ZTR Control Systems, Ontario Early Years, and, of course, Western.

The program is designed to give students a firsthand, insider’s look at London workplaces in a career of their choice, make valuable networking contacts, and to allow them to see how their university education can be put to work.

“The London business community has expressed a desire to keep Western graduates in the London area,” said Linda Jack, the Social Science career counselor heading the program. “The Job Shadow experience is not only good for our students, but is a great opportunity for employers to showcase what they have to offer aspiring third and fourth year students who will soon be ready to step into a job.”
