Yard Waste
Separate yard waste collection begins this month in Waterloo Region
Region of Waterloo Separate collection of yard waste will soon begin across the Region. While the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo have had collection for a number of years, settlement areas in the townships will receive collection for the first time.
Yard waste is collected every other week on residents’ garbage collection day.
For town residents in North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich Townships:
+ Monthly calendars were delivered by Canada Post, detailing all the services, including the yard waste collection schedule.
+ Depending on location, residents can put out their yard waste beginning either the week of March 30th or April 6th.
For residents of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo:
+ A collection schedule can be found in the front green section of the current telephone book or online at www.region.waterloo.on.ca/waste.
+ Both Cambridge and Waterloo residents receive yard waste collection on the RED highlighted weeks. This begins the week of March 23rd.
+ Kitchener residents receive yard waste collection during the YELLOW weeks highlighted on the collection calendar. This begins the week of March 30th.
Yard waste includes grass clippings, tree branches, pine cones, garden material and other compostable yard waste.
