Toronto Graduates to be Offered Thousand in Cash to Relocate to Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan Premier and Saskatoon, Regina Mayors to visit Toronto next week with a list of employment opportunities in their thriving province
Toronto Recent Toronto university and college graduates hard hit with tuition debt and bleak employment opportunities in today’s economic recession will be offered some relief to the tune of $20,000 each when a team of Saskatchewan politicians visits the city next week. All they have to do is move to Saskatchewan.
As part of a special mission to Toronto from March 31-April 1, 2009, the Saskatchewan government will announce a unique incentive program for post-secondary graduates who relocate to Saskatchewan for a minimum of seven years. The program is part of the province’s aggressive effort to fill thousands of jobs currently available in Saskatchewan, which in spite of the recession continues to thrive and lead the country in economic growth.
Next week’s mission will consist of a contingent of about 25 representatives from the province, including Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall, Saskatoon Mayor Donald Atchison and Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco, who will present their province’s employment opportunities at the following events:

The Saskatchewan contingent which will also include about 25 of the province’s key businesses with positions to fill will unveil job openings in all sectors of the economy, particularly in the areas of engineering and applied science, healthcare, construction and trades of all kinds. The group will also discuss the province’s success story and plans for continued growth in spite of the world-wide economic storm, which is seeing companies announce layoffs at a record pace.
The mission is the second that the Saskatchewan government has made to Toronto in the past six months. The last visit, which took place in September 2008, drew several hundred Torontonians to relocate to Saskatoon and Regina, currently the fastest and second-fastest growing cities in Canada respectively.
