U.S. jobless claims rise to 26-year high last week

KIA March vehicle sales

MISSISSAUGA - KIA Canada Inc. announced March 2009 sales of 3,555 units, a 12.6 per cent increase over the March 2008 sales of 3,157 vehicles. On a year-to-date basis, 2009 KIA Canada sales are 6.2 percent ahead of 2008 sales through March. This marks KIA's best March sales month ever recorded.


Tech spending may fall more in 2009 than post-dotcom

SAN FRANCISCO/LONDON (Reuters) - Global information technology spending will fare worse in 2009 than during the dotcom bubble collapse of 2001, industry researchers Gartner Inc (IT.N) said on Tuesday in cutting earlier projections.

Honda Canada reports March sales

TORONTO - Honda Canada Inc. reported combined March sales of 12,570 units by its Honda and Acura divisions, a 23% decrease year-over-year. The Honda Automobile Division reported March sales of 11,359 units, down 20% from last year. The Acura Division reported March sales of 1,211 units, down 42% over last year.

Nissan Canada Inc. Reports Decreased Sales Results for March 2009

MISSISSAUGA, Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) reported sales of 7,605 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in March, a decrease of 8.8 per cent over the same month last year. For March, the Nissan brand accounted for 7,024 units sold while the Infiniti brand accounted for 581 units. Altima led all models with 1,874 units sold, followed by Versa and Sentra with 1,746 and 1,481 vehicles, respectively.
