Local arts conference provides business training and information
Kitchener The Waterloo Region Small Business Centre, Province of Ontario, and the Cities of Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge are hosting a one-day conferenceArts, Business, and Creativity: The ABC’s of Successon Saturday, April 25th at Cambridge City Hall.
Designed specifically for entrepreneurs with arts-based businesses and individuals from arts organizations; Arts, Business, Creativity is an interactive learning experience that will provide artists and cultural workers with business training and business information.
The event includes seminar sessions and a keynote address geared towards members of the arts community. Participants can choose from a variety of relevant seminar topics such as: grants, marketing, e-commerce, business planning, and accounting/legal/insurance information. A keynote by Gord Hume on the importance of Creative Communities“Shaping Cities for the 21st Century” will be followed by a social reception.
The target audience for the conference includes: emerging artists (artists who want to learn how to start and run an effective arts business), professional artists (artists who are already financially successful and want to grow their business), creative industry entrepreneurs (graphic designers, fashion moguls, digital media producers, and culinary artists), and employees of arts organizations in the community.
