New Wine Club in Canada Officially Launched: Hemispheres Wine Guild

TORONTO - Hemispheres Wine Guild; a new wine club operating in Canada, officially launched import services to members during a luxurious launch party at the Old Mill Inn of Toronto. The club is run by wine expert Marcus Ansems stating "I am interested in wineries around the world that are passionate about what they are doing. We'll work directly with winemakers and winery owners to make sure Hemispheres' continues to obtain the most interesting wines available. I will be in their cellar doors tasting, up to my armpits in grapes on the crush pad, dodging bird bangers in the vineyards and hurdling wine hoses in the winery to make sure members get the wines they signed up for."

The night celebrated the first offering of wines from McLaren Vale, South Australia for invitees including club members, media, investors and guests. The wines, an outstanding collection from small, unrepresented wineries never sold in Canada, withstood the first test of CEO Marcus Ansems' promise to bring in some of the world's best products. The most popular of the bunch seemed to be the 2007 "Linchpin" Paper Eagle Shiraz, being delivered to members in April 2009.

4 annual memberships are available for purchase to residents of Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. The "Taster Membership" is $100/month including 4 cases, and is intended to provide an introduction to the club without a significant cost commitment. Enthusiast members (8 cases a year) pay either $167 per month or $2,000 a year. Connoisseur members get 8 cases a year of ultra-premium and iconic wines for $250 a month. Icon members (12 cases a year, 4 premium, 4 ultra-premium and 4 iconic) pay $334 a month or $4,000/year at this highest level available. Each membership includes taxes, shipping, insurance and member services. Member sign up is available right on the website www.hemisphereswine.ca or by calling 1-866-351-8739.

Marcus Ansems, CEO and Director of Wine is heading the wine club, changing his career direction from years as a winemaker in regions around the world. His latest stop was general manager and winemaker at Canada's own Therapy Vineyards in Naramata, BC. During the last three years at this position, Marcus won many winemaking awards including most recently Best Shiraz at the All Canadian Wine Awards in 2008 - Marcus Ansems 2006 Shiraz.
