"Feast from the Heart" to benefit SHOW You Care a campaign for Supportive Housing in Waterloo

Waterloo Region - "Feast from the Heart" is an exciting opportunity for the community to give to the Supportive Housing of Waterloo, SHOW You Care Campaign. The SHOW team invites restaurants, community centres, schools, church groups and individuals to host their very own "Feast from the Heart" event.

"A Feast from the Heart" event could be any gathering - dinner, lunch, a coffee or cocktail party, a summer barbeque at the cottage, a birthday party or Canada Day celebration - in your own home or public facility. Invite your friends, family, neighbours, business colleagues to join you for a "Feast from the Heart" and ask those who attend to make a donation to help the homeless in our community.

A "Feast from the Heart" can take place any time between now and September 1, 2009. Hosts may invite as many people as they like - for a small light meal or for a fine dining extravaganza. If you wish, Supportive Housing of Waterloo will supply the invitations for your guests, and will provide you with information about SHOW.

Each host sets the contribution rate for her/his own event, and donations over $10 are eligible for a full charitable tax receipt.

Supportive Housing of Waterloo (SHOW) is an organization committed to providing affordable and supportive housing for the homeless individuals who currently use the Out of the Cold program and other shelters in Waterloo Region. Emergency support services like Out of the Cold are being stretched beyond their limits. The SHOW You Care campaign, which launched this past February, aims to raise funds and awareness to reduce homelessness in our community.
