Conference to Tackle Technology Needed for Climate Change

HAMILTON - We have the will but do we have the technology? The second Climate Change Technology Conference (CCTC 2009) is being held May 13 to 15, 2009 at McMaster University to look at developing practical engineering and administrative responses to climate change and global warming.

Among the guest speakers will be The Right Honourable Edward Schreyer, former Governor General of Canada and former Premier of Manitoba. He will speak at the final plenary on Friday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. in the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning & Discovery.

Other notable speakers: John Gerretsen, Minister of the Environment for Ontario and Duncan Hawthorne, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bruce Power who will both speak at the conference dinner on May 14 at LIUNA Station; John Boyd, past president, Golder Associates; David Sanborn Scott, vice-president, International Association for Hydrogen Energy.
